Bios are difficult. Do I tell you how much I love grilled chicken? Or that my favorite dinosaur is the Spinosaurus? Or do you only want to hear about my Heathen journey that led me to founding Hearthfire? I’ll split it down the middle some I suppose.
As of writing this in 2025, I’m 35. Im a blue collar factory worker. Im a biker and currently the VP of my family oriented MC. Im happily married to my soul mate, life force, angel that gives me breath, and Stardust eternal, Katla Strongwyrd. We have 3 amazing children, two teen girls Emma and Lilly who are hilarious and extremely smart and self sufficient, and then a force of nature with a sense of humor cos playing as a 5 year old boy named Rowan. All of my kids follow in my footsteps of loving music and marching band.
Im a huge nerd and while I dont have much time to sit down and play videos games like I used to I keep up with whats going on and still sneak a game of Halo Wars 2 in from time to time (1v1 me if you dare). I love to read, and try to keep up with all the fun shows coming out. I have just as many combat light sabers as I do swords and axes. I also enjoy the occasional range therapy but not in that cringe “tacticool operator” kind of way. My home gym is small but sufficient and I love to dedicate my fitness journey to Thor.
Ive been Heathen since January 2012, but I have been in the mindset of paganism for a while longer than that. I am extremely dedicated to my faith, and I have been involved with leadership in the pagan community for nearly a decade now. I founded Hearthfire in 2022 out of a desire for safe, accessible, healthy, active and fulfilling spirituality that was founded and built on actual inclusive values that promote pluralism. I’m very well studied and a majority of my time is spent teaching others online via my youtube Wolf The Red (easy to remember huh?) and in my online community of supporters called the Wolf Pack on discord. Its been very rewarding to help and impact so many and for them to be able to support me for all the work and education I provide.
I’ve been told I’m not allowed to be humble here, so I’ll share something I’ve had said to me over and over again. Im very fair and reasonable. I will always want to talk out any kind of disagreement and seek to understand rather than try to impose my desire or will onto a situation. I do not raise my voice, I do not dismiss folks, and I always want to give people the benefit of the doubt within reason.
A lot of people say this but I try to fully embody the mantra, I mean what I say and I say what I mean. Im honest to a fault but dont use that as an excuse to be cruel or hurtful. I dont wear different personalities depending on who I’m around and I believe im a rare case of what you see is what you get. I just dont have the mental bandwidth to have a secret agenda. I love to laugh and make others laugh. And above all I want to create an environment that people can feel like they can be themselves in.
I often talk about “taking off the mask” that we normally have to wear around people who we fear won’t understand us. I understand that we are all different and thats what makes a group like ours so wonderful. We get to hear different perspectives and solve problems in different ways. It helps us build a brighter more pragmatic future together.
When you’re in the temple of Hearthfire, be that out in the woods, in a building we’ve rented, at a picnic shelter… where ever we find ourselves, I want you to feel safe, happy, secure and fulfilled. If that is not the case then I have dropped the ball some where and I want to work with you to fix that if we can!
I’ve been incredibly blessed with an amazing and hard working team. The board members of Hearthfire have been an incredible boon as well as all of our committee members and hard working volunteers who help make this kindred what it is. They’ve also helped me become the person I am today and I value their input and guidance when the situations call for it. But more importantly I respect and and encourage feedback and even disagreement when those opportunities present themselves as well. The one thing you’ll never find at Hearthfire are “yes men”.
And I welcome anyone who wants to be apart of this inclusive endeavor. I stand by the universal fact that diversity with common and honest goals is what makes our kindred strong. I don’t believe in inner circles or cliques or “Goðis favorites”. I will sit and eat a meal with a new comer as often as I am able at every gathering. I love meeting new people and hearing their stories that led them to be sitting among the Hearthfire.
So I extend my hand to everyone reading this. If you’re honestly seeking a new path in life, if inclusivity is important to you, if you want help understanding these spiritual feelings you’ve been exploring, please come join us for our next gathering. I promise you, its like nothing you have ever experienced, theres not another group in the world like ours, and I bet its everything you’ve been looking for.
Mox Bel
Secretary
Hi! I’m Mox (they/them), Secretary of Hearthfire. I’m 48; I live with my husband, four kids, four cats, and a pomeranian named Hati who thinks he’s a wolf. When I’m not playing with spreadsheets, you may find me with a bit of needlework or a crochet project in hand, or holding a book I optimistically think I’m going to have time to read. I’ve made several youtube videos to help new pagans grow in their faith.
I’ve also spent the last 2 years assisting Wolf in a secretarial capacity as we planned gatherings and got Hearthfire off the ground. The org may be new, but we’ve been working for a while. I’ve been pagan for over a decade, and Heathen for about 5 years of that. I’ve been in leadership in one religion or another for over a quarter of a century now. Early on in leadership at various Christian churches I learned lessons in teamwork, service, and working within a religious organization’s framework. As a moderator in The Hold Discord server, I spend my time guiding and educating those new to Heathenry and honing my skills at conflict resolution. All of this has served me well already as Hearthfire’s Secretary.
Hearthfire and everyone who makes up a part of it mean the world to me. It’s a place of comraderie and support; a place where we pagans can be open in our faith while remaining true to ourselves. Being non-binary, inclusivity is of utmost importance to me and I will always make sure that Hearthfire lives up to the values we profess. If you’re just checking us out for the first time, welcome, and I hope to see you at a gathering soon!
Brjótr
Treasurer
Hi y’all! I’m Brjotr, the Treasurer for Hearthfire. I’m happily living my best life with my wife, cats, and all the other critters that call our woods home (we definitely have a few raccoons, possums, & deer who are basically pets at this point too). I’ve been a Heathen for over a decade at this point in my life, mostly solo up until joining what would eventually become Hearthfire in its official capacity. I have spent time in other pagan organizations, but they never really felt like the right fit. There was always some element of cliquishness present that never sat right with me, which we’re working very hard to prevent with Hearthfire. While this is my first time taking a leadership role in a religious community, I’ve spent my time in leadership roles in other organizations… from professional to nationwide hobby organizations.
I’m a geek and nerd through and through… I’ve always found interest and comfort in the newest tech and all things fantasy/sci-fi. I also love working with my hands and enjoy creative pursuits, which is why these days I’m usually finding something to design and 3D print!
I’m very excited to see what the future holds for Hearthfire, and I hope that anyone reading this holds that same excitement. This organization wouldn’t be what it is without each and every one of our members contributing their unique talents & perspectives. Having an inclusive place to come and worship the gods, safe from the woes & worries of the world, has been such a pleasure for the past few years… and I’ll strive, alongside the other Board members, to always ensure that we keep that atmosphere alive & thriving. So, for those of you looking to come and check us out, I hope that you’ll stop by and stay a while.
